Featured: Samsung Unleash Olympic Edition of Galaxy Note and Galaxy Y

As a Brit myself, this seems a little cheesy but, also nice to see happening all the same. Samsung have announced Olympic Editions of both the Galaxy Note and the Galaxy Y. These are essentially dressed up versions of the devices here in the UK. You can get them from O2 (Galaxy Note, Galaxy Y) right now if you live in the UK. It'd be nice to see some flashy extra along with the newly announced variants but, we can't ask for everything now can we? The phones come with both their original back covers along with the  – very nice, if I say so – union jack and Team GB logo designed back covers. That's about it, unfortunately but, it's nice to see a manufacturer get behind such events, even they are only after the press – I mean, who isn't?

For every Olympic Edition sold the sum of £1 will go towards the Team GB fund keeping things alive. For those Brits leaving abroad you might well be able to score one of these on eBay now, if you'll excuse me I have a union jack case to buy for my Nexus S…

Former Editor-in-Chief

For years now I've had a heavy interest in technology, growing up with 8-bit computers and gaming consoles has fed into an addiction to everything that beeps. Android saved me from the boredom of iOS years ago and I love watching the platform grow. As an avid reader and writer nothing pleases me more than to write about the exciting world of Android, Google and mobile technology as a whole.
