Staples adding the ASUS Transformer and Acer Iconia to growing Tablet lineup

Staples seems to be morphing into the new Best Buy. Selling the Transformer and Iconia may not seem like a big deal, but the office supply chain is already selling the Xoom, the webOS ripoff Blackberry Playbook, the Dell 7" Streak and convertible Inspiron and others.

They also offer the Nook, Nook Color and both sizes of the Amazon Kindle. Anymore, when you walk in to the place it actually looks more like an electronics store than a place to pick up notepads and paperclips.

My local Staples had the Iconia in-stock, but of course the Transformer was nowhere to be found. I quizzed the young man who was attempting to answer my questions, but when I asked if he had seen the Transformer he said, "yeah, I saw that when it was in the theater".

Wow, that's just a really bad joke. He hadn't heard of it, that much was true.

I'm a 40 something early adopter of all things technology. I was first in line to buy both my original Verizon Droid and my Apple iPad 1. I don't hate your phone or tablet choice, but I've probably got an opinion about it. Aside from my family, the only things that I love more than a new gadget are fly fishing and going to the ballpark. Ocassionaly I find a way to blog about both. Though I'm only one more Foxconn story away from being fired, I've been writing for Android Headlines since March 2011.
