Motorola Plans to Intend to release Gingerbread for the Atrix, Probably

It isn't that Motorola is going to release a Gingerbread update for the Atrix, but that they plan to intend to do it. I know that the British speak a different type of English than Americans but this one is a bit of a laugh. Speaking to at yesterdays Atrix launch on Orange in the UK, Motorola VP of International Marketing Andrew Morley was asked if Gingerbread was coming for the Atrix. It's a really oddly worded quote, but here it is:

"Yes, there are. We haven't announced timings but we have announced plans for the intentions."

So, Motorola might maybe definitely release Gingerbread for the Atrix? No, that's not what he meant. Gingerbread is coming for the Atrix in the US and the UK, possibly at the same time. That's the good news. The bad? Absolutely no word on when it will happen.

Gingerbread has been available since last November but new phones are still being released running Froyo by all of the manufacturers. At least Motorola is going to think about maybe updating a few of their devices.

I'm a 40 something early adopter of all things technology. I was first in line to buy both my original Verizon Droid and my Apple iPad 1. I don't hate your phone or tablet choice, but I've probably got an opinion about it. Aside from my family, the only things that I love more than a new gadget are fly fishing and going to the ballpark. Ocassionaly I find a way to blog about both. Though I'm only one more Foxconn story away from being fired, I've been writing for Android Headlines since March 2011.
