The Official App of Google I/O 2011 has Entered the Building
Heading to Google I/O 2011 next week? Following the livestream at home? Just want to catch one or two keynote addresses? No matter how little or how much Google I/O you want to do, the app you need is ready for your device!
Head on over to the Android Market and get Google I/O 2011 information at your fingertips. It's been improved from last year's version to support your Honeycomb tablets as well as the phones, phones, phones that will all be grabbing this Google goodie. I can tell you I clicked that green "Install" button a couple of seconds after seeing this news!
The tablet version takes advantage of the extra screen real estate to show much more information in a tablet-optimized layout. All devices get a "realtime activity stream." And I like the ability to see the list of sessions by track, so I can find all the Android-related sessions quickly.
What's in the Google I/O 2011 App?
- Realtime Activity/Search Stream
- Conference Content, session and speaker info
- Developer Sandbox (Company info)
- Take Notes using Catch
- Star (favorite) companies and sessions of interest

The app is open source and the code will be released after the conference, according to Roman Nurik. Last year's app was a great springboard for developers to learn from the Google I/O 2010 app. Who knows what we'll be seeing after the conference and the app source code gets released? Good things, I bet!
Are you attending Google I/O 2011? Android Headlines will be bringing you the news right from the conference if you can't make it. And if you can, I'll be wearing my Android Headlines shirt, so be sure to say hi!
