Making Way For A New Galaxy: Price Drop for Galaxy Tab

Galaxy Tab Available For Smartphone Prices

Just over a week ago Androidheadlines reported that the Samsung Galaxy Tab price had dropped to $149.00 in Canada. Now US carriers Verizon and Sprint have both dropped the price of the Tab to $199.00 with a new 2-year contract.

The Galaxy Tab is an Android 2.2 (Froyo) tablet with a 7 inch screen which, at it's release, was ahead of the game. However, with the recent announcements of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 8.9, it looks like carriers are trying to make room by offering the older tablets at a savings to you. If you're in the market for an affordable 3G tablet, this might be the deal for you. No word on whether the Galaxy Tab will ever be updated to Android 3.0 (Honeycomb).
