LauncherPro, the already solid homescreen replacement application, gets an update courtesy of creator Federico Carnales. For all users, version 0.8.4 brings two new screen transitions as well as improvements to its app drawer performance on Android OS 2.3 (Gingerbread). If you are a LauncherPro Plus (LPP) user, you will see additional improvements to both the Facebook and Twitter widgets and an all new Gmail widget. According to Carnales, via LauncherPro.com, this isn't the pending rewrite – he's still working on that – but it will definitely provide you with a smoother overall experience.
Carnales said that Android Market terms and conditions won't allow developers to sell app upgrades outside the Android Market. Unfortunately, as a result of these changes, those who had hoped to purchase the app using PayPal may be running out of time because the PayPal option is going away. However, that means LauncherPro Plus will be available for purchase in the Market soon.
For those of you who do have access to the Android Market and want to "test drive" this updated LauncherPro, your QR code is just below, or for you can click here. You can also find the app here at AppBrain.com, or you can go to the LauncherPro site and download the .apk file from there.
