Looks like someone over at Skattertech managed to get some very cool information that wasn't the reveal of a new phone (imagine that). After striking up a conversation with a HTC employee he managed to get some interesting news regarding phone updates. According to the employee the HTC Evo 4G (the first 4G phone in America) will be receiving Android 2.3 Gingerbread 'very soon', and not only that other legacy devices would also be getting the new OS (Sense and all).
Whats The Hold Up?
The only thing HTC are apparently waiting for so far is for one their newest phones sporting 2.3 Gingerbread to be released first (Evo 3D maybe? Or the Desire S?). This is so that potential buyers don't hesitate to get the latest goodies and aren't conservative when looking at making a possible upgrade.
With this being the Evo's second upgrade it is great that HTC are prepared to update their older phones to the latest software. While other companies are being complained about because of their slow approach to upgrades I think we should show our approval that HTC is moving onwards and upwards.
