There has been a lot of buzz over the release date of Verizon's first 4G LTE smartphone, the HTC Thunderbolt. If you follow Verizon or Best Buy on Facebook or Twitter, you've seen it all: A leaked date on a Best Buy Facebook page, which was quickly deleted, no doubt Big Red dropped the hammer on that one. Verizon claiming to have no knowledge of a release date, to pre-orders at Best Buy to which customers were given a release date of Feb. 14. Then as late as yesterday, Best Buy apparently got amnesia as to when the release will be.
Having said all that, there now appears to be some hint as to an actual release date. An ad for the Thunderbolt has been released on Verizon's YouTube page, and the secret is in the lightning flashes. You see a stormy night scene, beautiful lightning, rolling thunder, and a girl counting the time between strikes in spanish. If this ad is indeed any indication, then we are getting close. Or are we?
