Everyone is excited about Android 3.0 Honeycomb and all of the great UI elements and features that come with it. Although Google has kept to their statement that this OS is meant for larger screen devices and not phones many of us had kept hope alive that it would make to our handsets. Yesterday Feb 2. at Google’s official Honeycomb event those hopes were slashed.
An official spokesperson stated that Honeycomb would not make it to Android powered smartphones but he did mention that over time many elements of the new OS will trickle down into the phone version. Most notably are the UI enhancements as Google has continued to state they want to remove the need for manufacturers to create their own UI, and hindering the update process.
