On Sunday February, 13, the Eve of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Samsung is going to announce the device they believe is worthy of being called the Galaxy S 2. And from the almost confirmed Specs, it is most deserving of that title.
Reports are coming out that the device will feature a HUGE 4.5 inch Super AMOLED Plus screen that uses PenTile sub-pixels rather than the traditional RGB sub-pixles providing clarity beyond any screen available to date. The GS2 will also feature Samsung's own Orion 1.2GHz Dual-Core Processor, the perfect complement to the new screen for optimized 3D gaming or streaming movies and TV.
Other rumored specs include Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and Near Field Communications (NFC) which was included in the T-Mobile Vibrant and the Nexus S to allow for mobile payments without opening your wallet, Bluetooth 3.0, an 8MP rear-facing and 1.3MP front-facing camera most importantly with flash, something missing on its predecessor, and supports external SD Cards of up to 32GB.
Now the real Questions to be answered in Sundays Press Conference is when could we see the device hitting the U.S., to what carriers will it be heading first, and at what cost? Looks like we will just have to wait and see.
