Front-facing cameras are slowly beginning to popup on Android devices and they are a great piece of technology but what if you don’t have one? Many of us have only one rear-facing camera and the wizards over at Vainworks have come up with an awesome solution for anyone that wants “facetime” chat on their rear camera phone.
Using mirrors this headset stand allows the rear camera to show the face of the person in front of the phone. The guys over at Vainworks say that this works much better with phones that have cameras offset to the side, if the camera is centered the mirrors will still work but pick up more the phone in the shot. The website, www.vainworks.com has some great information, including which phones will fit the stand and whether they will work in portrait or landscape mode. Phones supported include the OG Droid, Droid Incredible, Droid Eris, Galaxy S phones and more.
There is some real credit due here for figuring out a low-tech but very effective (not to mention cheap) way for everyone out there without a front-facing camera to take advantage of Tango, Skype, or Fring!
