Coby Brings KYROS Android Tablets to CES

Electronics manufacturer Coby announced during CES 2011 their plans to release not 1, but 5 new low cost Android Tablets. The Kyros tablet line features screen sizes in range from 7-inchs to 10.1, each with Android 2.3 OS(Gingerbread), along with a Samsung s5PV210 processor. The models introduced at CES include the 7-inch MID 7025 and MID 7206, the 8-inch MID 8025, and the 10.1-inch MID 1025 and MID 1026. Coby is known for lower priced products, so if you’re on a budget the Kyros might be something to check out, even if the specs are not as top notch as what we’ve been seeing from CES so far.  A Kyros tablet spec break-down, along with tentative prices are listed below.

All Kyros Tablet models feature:

  • Android 2.3 (FroYo) , a Samsung-made 1GHz Cortex A8 processor, for Flash support

  • A front-facing camera, 0.3MP
  • An HDMI output, 1080p
  • An “Auto Rotation Sensor”, internal microphone, and stereo speakers
  • Compatibility with WiFi 802.11b/g signals–no support for 802.11n
