In case you hadn't heard, Gameloft, the company responsible for popular games like Modern Combat: Sandstorm and Let's Golf HD, recently received some bad press regarding some users being overcharged for their titles.
According to reports, users who purchased games from Gameloft were charged multiple times -- one user was charged four separate times for one purchase. To make matters worse, Gameloft remained silent on the issue and didn't immediately respond to complaints from people affected by the additional charges. It was only after the Android blogosphere lit up with user complaints that Gameloft finally admitted the error and offered refunds and apologies for the mistake.
GetJar just announced on their Twitter page that they would be offering Modern Combat: Sandstorm on their site free of charge. After some research, it was found that Let's Golf HD was also available. No word if this is part of Gameloft's "mea culpa" or if they've just found themselves in the Christmas spirit.
