The Samsung Galaxy S line of phones has been a major success both in North America and worldwide. Since the June launch in Samsung’s home country of Korea they have sold 2 million units in that country alone. That puts the total sales number up to 9.3 million and on pace to sell 10 million by the end of the year.
There are quite a few variants of the Galaxy S on the market but nonetheless it will be the first Android phone to have 8 digit sales figures. In comparison, Apple has sold 14 million iPhone 4′s worldwide in about the same time that Samsung sold their 9.3 million.
Selling 10 million units is big news and a great reason to celebrate for Samsung, not to mention they have moved over million Galaxy S Tabs since its release.
