Huawei Technologies Company Ltd. of China launched two Android phones in India today, and looks to send four more by the end of the year. The technology giant has taken it’s first steps into India’s open market with what customers and analysts are hoping to be mid priced Android phones boasting HVGA screens.
The actual specifications are unknown at the time of this report, but it is assumed that both models will carry Qualcomm chips given Huawei and Qualcomm’s recent alliance in the mobile industry. Here is a rundown of what we know so far:
Admittedly, it is a strange looking phone, but the green is a nice color (also comes in yellow and purple). 3G network, touchscreen, qwerty keyboard, and trackball. The U8300 is Huawei’s “social networking phone” and comes set for emailing, Facebook, and Twitter.
Sleeker, and definitely more sophisticated looking than the U8300, the U8500 comes multi-touch capable, blackberry-style optical trackpad, and a 3.2 inch screen.
