Another Manufacturer Drops AMOLED Screens

The Pantech Vega is a new phone that just launched in Korea and it boasts an impressive 3.7" AMOLED screen. However, don't get used to the screen on future Helio devices. Helio is dropping the AMOLED screens just as HTC did due to the shortage from Samsung. Samsung uses AMOLED screens in its Galaxy S phones and they have been launching with different carriers over the past month. Obviously Samsung is going to make sure they take care of themselves first.  So, Pantech has had to rely on a different screen. To combat the shortage, Samsung has a new AMOLED facility opening up in 2011. Once this facility is up and running, maybe then we will be past the shortages and everyone can enjoy their AMOLED screens!
