The first Galaxy S phone is for sale in the United States and T-Mobile is the carrier. The Samsung Vibrant is a Galaxy S phone that has been all over the headlines lately. However, T-Mobile has had absolutely no buzz and very sluggish sales. You would think that T-Mobile would look to take the advantage hear as every other carrier has not launched their version yet, but for some reason, it doesn't even look like they are trying! If you go to T-Mobile's website, you have to dig to find the Vibrant. It is not mentioned anywhere on the landing page. I had to click on Samsung phones and even then it was on the second page! If you go to Sprint's site, the very first phone you see is the EVO 4G. Sprint knows this phone is hot and they are pimping it in any way they can.
A friend of mine went into a T-Mobile store to check the phone out and they did not even have any signs up or any displays. He had to ask to see one! I have been writing about the Galaxy S for weeks and the first carrier to offer it is sitting there waiting for someone to ask about it? What is going on here T-Mobile?! This rockin phone comes with 4 inch capacitive Super AMOLED Display, 1GHz Hummingbird processor, 5MP camera with 720p video recording, 2GB microSD card preloaded with the movie Avatar, the new SIMS game from EA, all running on Android 2.1. You even get a 1500mAh lithium ion battery. T-Mobile is selling the phone for $199.99 after a $50 mail in rebate. Maybe the Droid X launch spoiled the plans for T-Mobile? Whatever the case may be, I am shocked at the lack of advertising for this phone by T-Mobile. When the phone comes out for my carrier, I know they will advertise well and I plan on being one of the first to own one!
