T-Mobile HTC Magic (myTouch 3G) to get Android 2.2 ,Why not Rogers HTC Magic+?

Great news if you are on T-Mobile and rocking a myTouch 3G. T-Mobile has announced that you are getting Android 2.2. The announcement says they are going to update the entire myTouch 3G range.

The myTouch 3G is the same phone as the HTC Magic in other countries. Click the image above for all of the details. It is good to know that T-Mobile is working on this while some carriers and manufacturers are making a big deal of finally getting Android 2.2.

This does raise the question however, what about Canada's Rogers? Apparently they have decided that it is a big deal to get 2.1 on the Magic.  While there are very slight differences in the Magic/myTouch 3G by region, there is no difference that is big enough to prevent getting 2.2 on this phone. So why no love for 2.2 from Rogers?

Any one else wondering the same thing?
