Swype's update for their application last week fixed some major bugs and provided some database enhancements. This generated the belief that there was a final version of the application on the way. Well thankfully this was exactly correct. It was reported bu TechCrunch that there would be a final beta release available on their website today for all android users.
Today the prediction is true. for the next couple of days anyone can go get Swype to try it out.
While this is not a final release, an open beta means that Swype is confident that this application is nearing the completion required for release to the Android Market. This would mean that we are about to see the final release.
This is great news. This keyboard, which was used to break the Guinness world record last year, is an infinite improvement on the rather sloppy and inaccurate stock Android keyboard. While I had never used it before yesterday, I can already say that this keyboard is the keyboard I will use over any other I have tried. It is quick, easy to use, and extremely accurate.
If you haven't tried it and you own an Android handset you owe it to yourself to go get it and see what you have been missing. You may just decide that you enjoy typing again.
