Tired of converting your video files for viewing on the go? Well users with devices which have Android 2.1 no longer need to with RockPlayerBase. The player can handle most common video formats; XviD, DivX, MKV and RMVB.
RockPlayerBase provides a lightweight media app with a simple interface. When you fire it up you’ll see a file list where you can choose your video. Once playing, you will have access to some basic video controls (play, pause, skip back/forward, zoom and timeline scrubbing). Tapping anywhere on the screen will clear the controls from view. For those curious, the player provides a frames-per-second count in the top right corner. This can be removed by tapping the DivX icon.
Currently, it’s a free download. Though it’s also in beta, so you won’t find it in the market, but you can download it here.
