HTC Hero Updating to Android 2.1 in France?

Part two of the HTC upgrade to Android 2.1 is scheduled to take place on June 29 according to Android site Frandroid. HTC has confirmed again that June 29 is the day.
The "Eclair" upgrade is coming in two parts with part one already under way. The next time the Hero checks for automatic software updates, part one will be detected for an OTA download. Part two, scheduled for June 29, will wipe all data on consumers handsets which is why HTC is urging Hero owners to ensure all of their important information is backed up before proceeding with the installation. HTC also advises that due to the size of this update, they advise using a WiFi connection to avoid any additional data charges.
Many have vented their frustrations about this long delay that was supposed to happen in April. If everything goes as planned, that frustration could be over very soon.
