Google Maps Adds Public Transit and More

Google announces an update to Maps for android today. Version 4.3 has three notable additions to its predecessor. Latitude allows you to find friends or have google suggest friends in your area by joining the 'latitude' network. Could be handy for those impromptu meetings with friends. If you're a more private person, the feature is disabled by default. My favourite new feature is the ability to see transit station departures. Simply navigate to the layers menu and turn on 'Transit Lines'. Be sure to zoom in close enough to make the bus or subway stop visible on the map. The last addition included in this update is having your search results expand automagically as you scroll through your list. I'm certain this will be a welcome update to any maps user. Enjoy!
