The sleek and sexy Galaxy S is to be offered by Australia’s second largest carrier, Optus, for free with a two year plan. The growing popularity of the Galaxy S can be attributed to it’s great value for dollar offering. Sporting a 4-inch 16M Super AMOLED WVGA screen with a 480×800 resolution, this phone is nothing to be shy about. Galaxy S comes pre-installed with Samsung’s Eclair (android 2.1) and its TouchWiz interface that provides easy access to social networking apps like Facebook and Twitter. With the choice of 8gig or 16gig on board memory, plus microSD expansion, you won’t be hurting for storage. Other goodies include a 5 megapixel camera with HD recording capabilities, HSUPA / EDGE / GPRS radio, as well as standard bluetooth and WiFi. You’ll also be happy to know that Galaxy S comes pre-installed with an e-book reader and Swype for your keyboard pleasure.
