Secure Message App TigerText Partners With US Cellular

In the face of countless exploits and security tweaks being announced for popular smartphones and apps and services used on them, along with a very public battle over encryption between Apple and the FBI, there has been a huge increase in focus on the areas of security and encryption. There are a good number of apps out there that help mobile users to encrypt their communications from end to end, with WhatsApp being one of the more recent to join that list. One such app, called TigerText, offers completely encrypted messaging, allowing for secure back and forth and group communication. The HIPAA compliant secure messaging service is now available, with premium features as a bill option, to all US Cellular customers, enterprise or personal.

TigerText, available as an app in the Google Play Store for free, has a large number of premium features, such as multi-person chat rooms and the use of priority messages, which users have to pay in order to make use of. In their partnership with US Cellular, TigerText is making their service more accessible and much easier to pay for by integrating customers’ usage fees into their monthly US Cellular bills. All of the normal paid features, from a trends dashboard and email support to batch uploading and fax integration are available to US Cellular customers as bill add-ons.

While normal civilians can obviously derive some usefulness from encrypted communications, the service is clearly targeted at enterprise users, which is shown in the pricing and feature set. While the free tier includes basic features encrypted SMS messaging, multi-user messaging, attachments and email support, the Team level, while free, adds in powerhouse features like multi-organization messaging, a trends dashboard and comprehensive administrative controls. The paid Enterprise Edition is the main offering and gives paying users powerful, business-grade features like delivery escalation, restricted contacts, answering service, message archiving and comprehensive post-sales support, including things like 24/7 customer support and access to API experts and a customer service and implementation team consisting of 30 members. TigerText is compliant with standards set forth by HIPAA, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and the Financial Industry Regulation Authority.
