Yesterday was a big day for two China-based smartphone manufacturers, Meizu and Huawei. Meizu has introduced their M3 Note mid-ranger, while Huawei unveiled the Huawei P9, P9 Plus and the TalkBand B3. That being said, Meizu did not unveil only the M3 Note we’ve talked about yesterday, the company has also introduced some other gadgets, like a pair of earphones we’re here to talk about, read on.
Meizu EP51 Sports Bluetooth Stereo headset has also been announced yesterday, and this is essentially a really nice pair of Bluetooth earphones. The EP51 earphones not only look good, but they sport a really solid set of specs which suggests you might get a really good audio output out of this device. For those of you who don’t know, Meizu started off as an mp3 player manufacturer, so the company has plenty of experience when it comes to making good audio products. Anyhow, as their name says, these are sports earphones, they sport silicone earbuds, and the wing tips should keep them firmly in your ear while you’re running, or generally working out. The earphone base is made out of aircraft-grade aluminum, and the whole product weighs just 15.3 grams. The earphones are nano coated in order for them to be waterproof and sweatproof, which makes them really convenient to use even if it’s raining outside while you’re working out.
The Meizu EP51 earphones have a built-in microphone, volume and call buttons, while the cable is made out of a kevlar-like material. Let’s talk more about the specs, shall we. These earphones have an impedance of 16Ω, sensitivity of 88dB, and maximum power of 10mW. Bluetooth 4.0 is built-in here, and 20Hz ~ 20KHz is the frequency range of these earphones. Music control buttons are included here as well, and Meizu claims that the EP51 has a really solid battery as well, these earphones should be able to provide up to 6h of continuous music playback or talk time, while they can sit for 15 days on standby. The Meizu EP51 earphones are available in Black and Red color variants, and are priced at 269 Yuan ($42). These earphones can already be ordered in China, and will be available for purchase on April 11th.
