Huawei is aiming to sell 140 million smartphones in 2016, and in order to do that, they’ll need to release quite a few compelling devices. As a reminder, the company has managed to ship out 108 million devices last year, so they’re aiming to improve upon 2015, a year when they managed to become the world’s third largest smartphone manufacturer. That being said, Huawei has introduced their P9 flagships a couple of days ago, the Huawei P9 and P9 Plus, and the company has high hopes for both of those phones. The Huawei Honor 5C will reportedly launch before the end of the month, and it seems like yet another P9 device is going to arrive soon, read on.

It was quite surprising Huawei did not opt to release the P9 Lite handset along with the P9 and P9 Plus, but we assumed that the Lite version will launch in the coming weeks, and it seems like that might happen. The device has been spotted in Netherlands recently, and the company’s document leaked online confirming the existence of that phone. This document was leaked by @dkionline, and if you take a look at it, you’ll get to see not only the design of the device, but also its specifications. Judging by this info, the Huawei P9 Lite will feature a 5.2-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. The phone will be fueled by the Kirin 650 64-bit octa-core SoC, and a 3,000mAh battery will be a part of this package as well. The 13-megapixel shooter (f/2.0 aperture) will be placed on the back of this phone, and an 8-megapixel snapper (f/2.0 aperture) will be available up front. The device will offer 4G LTE connectivity, and Android Marshmallow will come pre-installed here with Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) 4.1 available on top of it. The Huawei P9 Lite will weight 147 grams, and will also sport a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. The phone itself will be made out of metal, just like its siblings.

The Huawei P8 Lite was a well-selling handset for the company, and Huawei has high hopes for its successor as well. The device is expected to launch before the end of this month, it is possible that the company plans to announced both the P9 Lite and Honor 5C at the same time. Either way, stay tuned.
