Each year, big name companies like Samsung and LG announce their latest flagships within the first couple of months of the year, and not too long ago LG officially announced the LG G5 smartphone back at Mobile World Congress at the end of February. While the phone is still actually not available for purchase or even pre-order, as those are set to hit at least Best Buy on March 18th which is just this coming Friday, T-Mobile customers can already pre-register for the device as the website just went live to do so. This still puts LG a little bit behind Samsung which recently launched their brand-new Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge last Friday on March 11th, but LG is looking at an earlier launch this year than last year for their flagship.
Pre-registering to be notified about the device launch is likely not going to be everyone’s priority, at least not for the most diehard as those consumers will likely be watching for the earliest possible details online for when to pre-order or go in store and pick up the device. For the average consumer though who simply wants to know when they can go in and grab one, this is a good method on how to do so. T-Mobile simply requests an email address and once the phone launch date is announced, they’ll ping those consumers with an email on when they can either place their pre-orders or head to a store to purchase the device.
At the moment there hasn’t been any official statements from LG or any of the carriers that are picking up the LG G5 on their networks for exact launch dates or pricing details. Lg has mentioned an early April release for the launch of the device in the U.S., so it’s possible that T-Mobile could end up launching it within the first couple of weeks on their network, as would likely every other major carrier that has announced they would be offering the smartphone. With it now having just approached the middle of March, there should be no more than a month to go before LG latest and greatest is available in stores.
