LeEco is not a new company, but they’ve started selling smartphones back in April last year, which makes them a rather young smartphone manufacturer. Despite that fact, LeEco has managed to sell quite a few devices last year, and are looking to improve upon that this time around. The company will introduce their Le 2, Le 2 Pro and Le Max 2 devices on April 20, or at least that’s what the rumors are saying. The company did schedule a press event, and confirm that new hardware is coming, but they did not reveal which smartphone models will be announced, so this is more of an educated guess than anything else.
While we’re waiting for LeEco’s event next month, the company actually managed to surprise us and release their new TV lineup. As you probably already know, Xiaomi has introduced two new smart TVs recently, one of which sports a curved display. Well, LeEco is looking to compete with that, and has released new 55-inch and 65-inch curved display TVs. The Super Max55 Curved and Max65 Curved sport the LED Edge-Backlit 4K LCD panels with 3840 x 2160 resolution. These two TVs are made out of aircraft grade aluminum, while their panels have a minimum color gamut of 68% NTSC, 10bit color depth and a 4000:1 contrast ratio. The two TVs also have a response time of 8ms, and minimum brightness of 280 nits. Mstar’s 6A938 quad-core SoC fuels LeEco’s new smart TVs, and the quad-core Mali-T820 GPU is here for graphics rendering. The Super Max55 Curved and Max65 Curved pack in 3GB of DDR3 RAM, 32GB of eMM 5.1 internal storage, and of course pack in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The 4K M-Genuine S1 Pro color engine is also a part of this package, and so is the MEMC (Motion Estimated Motion Compensation) dynamic image quality processing technology. Harman Kardon audio is integrated into these TVs, you get a three-way speaker with a separate bass (power of 10W x 2). There are three HDMI 2.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, one USB 3.0 port, AV input, PC audio input, computer VGA video input, optical audio input, RJ-45 and physical buttons available on LeEco’s all-new smart TVs.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes out of the box here, and LeEco’s EUI 5.8 runs on top of Google’s OS. The LeEco Super Max55 Curved and Max65 Curved are priced at 4,999 Yuan ($700) and 7,999 Yuan ($1,240) in China, respectively.
