Jason Statham to Star in First LG G5 TV Commercial

Earlier today, LG was excited to announce that they received the nod of a high profile Hollywood actor to star in their first TV commercial for their latest flagship device, the LG G5. Famous for his action movies “The Transporter” and “The Expendables” series, Jason Statham has agreed to be the endorser for the revolutionary G5 modular smartphone. Ever since the G5 was unveiled at MWC last month, LG has received lots of praise for finally creating a smartphone as diverse as the G5. Many even claimed that they have been waiting for such a device for the longest time.

Sending out a press release for the good news, LG talked about how their latest commercial will be like now that Statham will be starring in it. The new commercial is said to be directed by passionate filmmaker Fredrik Bond, who has been the name behind a number of global campaigns for famous multinational brands as well.

As announced by LG, the commercial is produced on location in Los Angeles with creative powerhouse Energy BBDO as the creative agency partner behind the conceptualization of the TV commercial. The commercial is expected to highlight the playful experiences brought about by LG’s latest versatile smartphone. In the same way, the commercial will highlight Statham in different characters as he enjoys using the LG G5 and the different modules available. The concept behind the commercial will introduce the G5 as a smartphone that goes beyond just a communication device but as something that can enrich the user’s life. In the end, the commercial will play along the tagline of the smartphone “Life’s Good when you Play More.”

On an interview discussing his role in the commercial, Statham shared that he “enjoyed partnering with LG and working on this commercial.” Statham also shares that he hopes his enjoyment of the product will show once the commercial is finally released. The LG G5 commercial starring Jason Statham is said to launch on April 1 (Korea Standard Time) when it gets published on the company’s official Facebook page. The commercial will be launched in the company’s key market areas such as North America, Europe, Latin America, and East Asia.
