We’ve all heard of Raspberry Pi, which is a pretty small computer board that can be used to create virtually anything. The only limit is what your mind can come up with. Now we have another one, that’s much cheaper and that’s the VoCore. It’s a Mini Linux Computer, and you can make it into a router, build a motherboard and even create an entirely new device. Not to mention repurposing old appliances into smart wireless appliances. Like your old speakers into a smart speaker. With VoCore you are able to use it as a standalone device which would run on OpenWrt, or you can use it as an embedded component of a larger system. With some electronics knowledge, you can pretty much build anything.

VoCore does also work on open-source hardware, it also provides up to 20 GPIO lines and includes an on-board WiFi adapter. This way you won’t need to use an external one. VoCore can easily connect with other peripheral devices as well. It can extend ethernet and USB interfaces using the dock. It integrates a 802.11n MAC, baseband, radio, FEM & 5-port 10/100Mbps Ethernet Switch. Now the VoCore Mini Linux Computer is on sale right now over on the Android Headlines Store for just $30.
