There are quite a few Android Wear smartwatches out there these days which gives consumers quite a bit of choice, but many of them are still selling for the retail cost, and some of them can be more than a few hundred. ASUS went against the grain by offering a more premium looking Android Wear watch with the launch of the ASUS ZenWatch 2, but it came in at a fraction of the cost of other models, and now you can pick it up on sale for just $149.00. This is the price for the Rose Gold model with the Taupe leather band.
The ASUS ZenWatch 2 features a 1.63-inch AMOLED display that’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 so it’s more resistant to scratches and scuffs. It’s also water-resistant up to 1 meter thanks to the IP67 rating. The watch is powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, and it supports Bluetooth 4.1 for the connection to a smartphone. It also supports WiFi 802.11b/g/n so you can connect it up to WiFi networks without the need to link it to your device and still be able to receive notifications. With the built-in pedometer you can have the watch count your stpes, and since it runs Android Wear there are a collection of varied apps available.
