Many, many companies all around the world develop Android-powered smartphones these days, and yet we’re still seeing innovation taking place from time to time. Speaking of which, a rather interesting project turned up back in January when a Bangalore-based company called ‘CREO’ reached out to us and presented their new project. CREO basically announced that they’re working on not only on their first Android-powered smartphone, but also a third-party Android-powered OS which seems intriguing. CREO actually managed to secure $3 million in funding from Sequoia India, Beenext Ventures and India Quotient a while back, and they’re obviously putting that money to use now.
That being said, the company has already released a promo video for both their upcoming smartphone and OS earlier this month, and now we finally have the official release date to share with you. CREO will introduce the CREO Mark 1 smartphone and their all-new operating system on April 13th. The event will be held in New Delhi, India, and by the looks of it, this could be a rather interesting product. The company has also launched the ‘Engrave My Phone’ campaign, which essentially means that they’ll let you engrave up to 40 characters on the side of the phone if you opt to buy the Mark 1. You can click here in order to see what’s this all about, but the phone is still not available for purchase, of course.
Now, we don’t really know all that much about the CREO Mark 1’s specs at the moment, but we do know how the phone will look like thanks to the video this company shared earlier this month. The device will sport three capacitive buttons below the display, while its side bezels will be really thin. The phone will sport a metallic frame, and the physical buttons will be located on the phone’s right side. Two sim card slots will be included here as well, though you’ll be able to use one of them in order to expand the Mark 1’s internal memory. On top of all this, CREO has promised extremely fast updates, or as they call them, ‘quickfire updates’, which is always a good thing. That’s pretty much it, CREO Mark 1 will be announced on April 13th, so stay tuned.
