Deal: Google Nexus 5 for $139 – 2/9/16

February 9, 2016 - Written By Alexander Maxham

To this day, the Google Nexus 5 is still the most popular Nexus smartphone – according to Google. It was their second time working with LG to make a Nexus smartphone, after the Nexus 4. It was released in 2013, and everyone loved it. The Nexus 5 was a great size with a 4.95-inch display, and high-end specs including the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, along with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The Nexus 5 was a great smartphone, and still is today. Google is still updating the Nexus 5, in fact it got the February 2016 Security Update just a few days ago.

It is a manufacturer refurbished version of the Nexus 5 from LG, so it’s not a brand new one. But you probably knew that since Google stopped selling the Nexus 5 almost a year ago now. As of writing this post, the Nexus 5 is available in both black and white from eBay in their Daily Deals. Unfortunately, they aren’t selling it in the fire-engine red that Google debuted. Coming in at $139, it’s a really great deal for this smartphone. Sure you could get something better from Motorola, or Alcatel that was released this year, but they have already given up updating those devices, for the most part. A big issue with a lot of non-Nexus devices these days.

The Nexus 5 is part of a dying breed. Being one of the last small, but powerful smartphones. With Android 6.0 Marshmallow, however it did get some fantastic battery life. And you can pick one up today!
