Acer Introduces Liquid Zest & Zest 4G Smartphones At MWC

Acer is a China-based tech company that you’ve probably familiar with. Acer is not one of the largest smartphone manufacturers in the world, but they are in the smartphone business and are doing their best to grow in that regard. In order to do that, we do expect Acer to introduce quite a few compelling devices this year, and they’ve actually just introduced two smartphones in Barcelona as part of the Mobile World Congress (MWC). That being said, these devices are not mid or high-end offering, but entry-level phones, read on.

The company has introduced two smartphones from the ‘Liquid Zest’ series, the Liquid Zest and Liquid Zest 4G. Now, these two smartphones are almost identical, as their name says, one sports 4G, and the other one does not, but that’s not the only difference. The Acer Liquid Zest is fueled by a quad-core SoC running at 1.0GHz, while the Liquid Zest 4G also sports a quad-core processor, but it is clocked at 1.3GHz. Acer did not share the exact brand model of these SoCs, but it looks like these are MediaTek’s MT6735M and MT6735 SoCs. That being said, the rest of the specs inside of these phones are completely identical it seems, at least partial ones provided by Acer. The Liquid Zest devices feature a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS On-Cell display, while they both run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box as well. The 8-megapixel shooter (f/2.0 aperture, 85-degree wide-angle lens) is placed on the back of these two devices, while you’ll find a wide-angle 5-megapixel snapper up front. As far as sound goes, Liquid Zest devices sport DTS audio, the Liquid Zest comes with DTS Sound Studio, and Liquid Zest 4G with DTS HD Premium Sound. Acer’s GameZone is pre-installed on both of these phones, which could come in handy if you’re a gamer.

Now, the Acer Liquid Zest will be available in EMEA in April, and it will cost €109, while the Liquid Zest 4G will arrive in that very same region in May, and it will be priced at €149. That is pretty much it, these two handsets are entry-level offerings by Acer, and there are quite a few images in the gallery down below for you to check out.
