Lenovo to Launch Vibe X3 Smartphone in India on Jan 27th

Lenovo is on a phone launching spree of late. While the company only recently launched the K4 Note mid-ranger in India, its latest high-end offerings have been conspicuous by their absence in the country. Now, however, that’s likely to change as the company has reportedly confirmed that it plans to bring to the country its latest premium smartphone, the Vibe X3, on January 27th. There is however, a ‘Youth’ variant of the device as well, which comes with more modest hardware and is priced at a significant discount to the more premium version. While the Vibe X3 was recently launched in China at a price of 2,499 Yuan ($400) for the 32 GB variant, the Youth version sells for around 1,889 Yuan ($280) in the country.

While the Vibe X3 is definitely coming to India, Lenovo hasn’t given any indication whether it wants to bring the more pocket-friendly variant to the country as well. As for that hardware on the Vibe X3, it is LTE-enabled and comes with a fingerprint scanner, something that’s becoming almost de rigueur on even lower mid-range handsets these days, what with prices for those sensors taking a tumble in recent times, and expected to fall even further this year. The phone also comes with dual SIM slots, which is basically standard in the Indian market. The second SIM slot, however, is said to be a hybrid one, meaning, those using a microSD card will unfortunately not be able to use a second SIM.

Taking a look at the hardware on the Vibe X3, the smartphone sports a 5.5-inch display panel that comes with a 1080p pixel resolution and is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 SoC, which packs a hexa-core application processor. The device comes with 3 GB of RAM, and is offered in two storage options – 32 GB and 64 GB. Both the editions, however, come with support for microSD cards of up to 128 GB in capacity for storage expansion. As for the cameras, the primary shooter is Sony’s IMX230 21-megapixel sensor that comes with LED flash and phase detection autofocus, while the secondary cam sports an 8-megapixel sensor. The phone comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop pre-installed and carries a 3,600 mAh battery.
