Huawei has become one of the most successful Chinese manufacturers in the mobile market. In fact, the company is now the third largest manufacturer around the globe. This is because the designs of their products has really improved and they integrate very good specifications as well. They even got to build one of Google’s Nexus devices called Nexus 6P, and it is considered to be the most powerful Nexus device to date. The company introduced the Mate 8 flagship phablet in November and it went on sale a little after for the Chinese market. At CES 2016 Huawei mentioned that this device would become available in many more countries in a near future, unfortunately, the U.S. is not one of them.
A new report mentions that the Mate 8 has been very successful in its home country, registering over 1 million units sold in the short period of time it has been available. Previous reports suggested that the phone was sold out at many retailers in China, but this new information comes from the company’s CEO Yu Chengdond, confirming the aforementioned number of sales. This is pretty much what the company expected in terms of sales, even before the device launched. Actually, the company’s head of the smartphone division, He Gang, stated that they plan to manufacture 1 million units of the Mate 8 each month. It will be interesting if the device manages to sell as many units in the additional regions where it will launch.
