Just a couple of days ago Honor officially confirmed that the Honor 5X would be hitting online store shelves for the low-cost price of $199 on January 31st, and right on schedule the Honor 5X is now available to be purchased from Amazon. You can find the device in multiple colors including Dark Grey, Daybreak Silver, and Sunset Gold, all clad in a metal unibody design, with some compelling features and hardware that make the device a potentially hard to pass up offering considering the cost.
The Honor 5X is equipped with a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1280, and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 64-bit octa-core processor that is accompanied by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Should 16GB not be enough you can expand on that through the insertion of a microSD card and it supports up to 128GB of expandable storage. On the back it features a respectable 13MP camera with LED flash, as well as a fingerprint sensor which Honor boasts is extremely fast and accurate thanks to the 0.5 second unlock time. Flipping things over to the front the Honor 5X is carrying a 5MP front facing camera.
The Honor 5X is also a dual-SIM device that supports the use of micro SIM and nano SIM cards, and since it’s an unlocked LTE device it’ll work on both T-Mobile and AT&T networks as well as other GSM carriers. Although it is running Honor’s EMUI skin on top of the Android software, it’s running Android 5.1 Lollipop which means it’s mostly up to date in terms of the latest Android versions. Those looking for an inexpensive device with a decent build quality and a more premium look and feel can’t go wrong with the Honor 5X as it certainly looks and feels premium. With a price at $199 it’s also extremely accessible, and being available in three different colors makes it a good choice for those who want something more personal and unique. If you’re interested in picking up the Honor 5X, you can pick it up on Amazon as well as from Honor’s own website and at Newegg.
