OnePlus 2 Available To All In India As Well, No Invite Needed

OnePlus has become a rather well-known company, especially in tech circles. This China-based smartphone manufacturer hasn’t been around for long, but they have released three extremely compelling devices. OnePlus has managed to captivate a number of people with their ‘flagship killer’ OnePlus One device last year, and to build upon that, the company has introduced two new smartphones this year, the OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X. The former is a direct successor to the OnePlus One, and the latter is a mid-range offering by the company. That being said, both of these phones are very affordable, but there is a catch, or better said, there used to be, read on.

As most of you know, OnePlus’ invite system has been around since the company announced OnePlus One last year. In other words, you needed to acquire an invite in order to purchase one of OnePlus’ devices. Well, the company has announced that the invite won’t be required for the OnePlus X after a certain period of time passes, and they actually managed to surprise everyone when they basically killed the invite system for the OnePlus 2 as well. Four days ago OnePlus has announced that invitations are no longer required for the purchase of OnePlus 2, interestingly enough, the invites were still required in India, well, that’s no longer the case. OnePlus has announced today that consumers in India can purchase the OnePlus 2 handset without a problem as well, no invite required. They are four days late, but better late than never, right? Those of you who live in India and are looking to purchase OnePlus’ flagship, you can do so via Amazon India.

The OnePlus 2 features a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) LTPS IPS LCD display along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage (non-expandable). The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core SoC along with an Adreno 430 GPU for graphics. The device sports a 3,300mAh non-removable battery on the inside, and you also get two SIM card slots as part of the package. The 13-megapixel camera is located on the back of this phone, and a 5-megapixel snapper can be found up front. Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here along with OnePlus’ Oxygen OS which is available on top of Google’s OS.
