NVIDIA SHIELD Now Includes Twitch For Viewing & Broadcasting

Video game streaming has become an almost otherwordly phenomenon across the web over the last few years, all because of sites like Twitch which allowed gamers of virtually any platform to stream their content to viewers who may have been interested to watch. Part of the beauty was that it gave viewers a chance to interact and engage with those actually playing and streaming the games, something which the likes of Google saw the benefit of and followed up with their own answer to game streaming earlier this year with YouTube Gaming. Although Twitch has been around for quite some time it still doesn’t have apps on every single platform, like the SHIELD Android TV from NVIDIA for example, but as of today that all changes.

NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV owners now have the ability to access and view Twitch livestreams of their favorite games just as if they were watching content through the desktop or any of the other apps on various platforms the service has. Of course, this wouldn’t be a true Twitch experience if users weren’t able to stream their own live broadcasts, and thankfully NVIDIA is making sure to include this as a capability, now allowing gamers and users of the NVIDIA SHIELD Android tv device to stream their gameplay sessions. With broadcasting now available, gamers who like to delve deep into everything that the SHIELD Android TV has to offer can share those awesome experiences with friends, or anyone else who tunes in to their stream.

With NVIDIA SHIELD’s access to a plethora of AAA game titles that can’t be found on other Android TV devices, the inclusion of Twitch now makes for a very compelling reason to grab the SHIELD over other units if this is a function you are wanting, especially with other available services like GeForce now, and the ability to stream PC games from your desktop or laptop to the SHIELD. Of course, there’s also access to the Play Store and a wide variety of Android games, and other media like music and movies from Play Music and Play Movies & TV. With SHIELD starting out at $199 and the holidays right around the corner, gamers looking for Twitch broadcasting capabilities have never had a better time to grab one.
