Today, HTC finally took the veils off of their latest smartphone which is now officially known as the HTC One A9. While most of the details are still coming through, one of the big announcements form today was that HTC will be releasing an unlocked version available directly from HTC in addition to the carrier variants which will also be available. The unlocked version will cost $399.99 and pre-orders will open today for that model. However, virtually no details were provided during the announcement as to how those who wish to purchase through a carrier will be able to, with HTC simply saying that details will be made available directly from the carriers. Well, first to break their silence is Sprint.

Sprint has now confirmed that they will be carrying the HTC One A9. In addition, Sprint has confirmed that it will be available to pick up from Sprint starting from November 6th. Those interested in picking up the One A9 through Sprint will be able to lease the device through Sprint Lease on a 24-month basis. This will break down to an monthly amount of $20 with $0 down. Spirit has also confirmed that for a limited time, those who activate a new HTC One A9 will be able to make a savings of $40 which will come in the form of two $20 credits (two monthly lease amounts) after activation. Sprint’s Easy Pay option means you can pick up a One A9 with $0 down and pay a monthly amount of $29, while those interested in going for a straight contract One A9 will be looking at a $199.99 down payment, along with a two-year contract. Interestingly, Sprint’s website notes the full price of the device bought through them as $696 which is considerably higher than the $399.99 quoted for the unlocked version. For those interested in getting their pre-orders in early, Sprint has also confirmed that pre-orders will open today for the One A9. Although as mentioned, shipping will not commence until November 6th.

If you need a quick reminder of the specs, then the HTC One A9 will come sporting a 5-inch FHD display. Inside, the One A9 is equipped with 3GB RAM and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor. Cameras are set at 13-megapixels for the rear and 4-megapixels for the front while memory comes in the form of 32GB and the option to expand. Not forgetting, the One A9 will come running on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) out of the box.
