Samsung Launch Galaxy S4 Mini Plus In Europe

August 3, 2015 - Written By John Anon

There is one trend that you can pretty much guarantee each year and that is that Samsung will release a bunch of devices that year. That said, another trend which is in the process of developing and seems to be one which is being picked up by a number of manufacturers is the Plus (+) trend. In fact, this is also a trend Samsung seems keen to get on board with too. You just have to look at the latest smartphone which is expected to drop from Samsung in the coming weeks, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+. Not only is the Galaxy S6 Edge a variant of the Galaxy S6, but this + version will make the Galaxy S6 Edge+ a variant of a variant.

Well, it now seems that is not the only Plus device Samsung is planning on releasing in August, as the company seems to have very quietly launched a Plus version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 now. In fact, the new device is being dubbed the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Plus, which again, makes it a variant of an already existing variant device, the Galaxy S4 Mini. Although, in some markets, it also seems to be going by the name the Samsung Galaxy S4 Value Edition. Which is a similar variant name to what is seen more recently with the Galaxy Grand Prime.

Generally speaking, the specs on offer are virtually identical to the standard Galaxy S4 Mini and include 1.5GB RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.9-megapixel front facing camera. While the storage is 8GB as standard and a microSD card slot for expanding when needed. Other features on offer include a 1,900mAh battery and the device runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). In fact, the only aspect which seems to be updated from the original Galaxy S4 is the processor which now includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor (clocking at 1.2GHz), along with an Adreno 306 processing the graphics. In terms of the availability of the Galaxy S4 Mini Plus, it seems little is known at the moment. The device has been spotted in a number of European countries and it seems the retail cost is 239.99 Euros, although the device has been noted going cheaper in some regions. It terms of the U.S., it seems unlikely that it will be launched here.
