Oppo R5s Is An Upgraded Version Of The Ultrathin Phone

Oppo is one of the most profitable Chinese manufacturers of mobile devices and they have recently created some interesting products. Some of their innovations integrated in smartphones include the motorized rotating camera on the Oppo N3 and they have also been focusing on making better hardware designs for their products, which can be seen on the back of the Mirror 5. Another interesting product is the Oppo R5, that phone achieved the title of the slimmest phone at the time it was released, integrating some powerful internals in a 4.85 mm profile.

Now, the company has upgraded the internals of the super thin phone and has officially announced the Oppo R5s. The hardware features the same body made of industrial grade stainless steel, plus the phase-shifting material helps to manage the internal temperature in a more efficient way, as well as absorbing it. The difference is that it is now offered in a dark grey color, it now includes more RAM going from 2 GB to 3 GB and the internal memory is being doubled, so it now has 32 GB, but still can’t be expanded. The rest of the specs are also similar to the ones found on its predecessor, including the 5.2 Full HD AMOLED display and the quad-core Snapdragon 615 processor (clocked at 1.5 GHz) powering the device. The cameras included are a 13-megapixel resolution camera for the main one, while the one on the front has a 5-megapixel resolution, both feature an aperture of f/2.0 and the Pure Image 2.0 enhancements.

The battery has a capacity of 2,000 mAh, which is considered rather low for today’s standards, but it features fast charging, so 30 minutes will restore 75% of its capacity and a five-minute charge will give it two hours of power. The phone still runs on Android 4.4.4 with ColorOS 2.0 on top of it. The phone was found on the European site and it is priced at €199, which converts to $226 approximately, but it is currently only listed as coming soon. The original version was priced at €399 when it was first announced, so the R5s is definitely a better option for those looking for a sleek phone with some decent internals.
