MIUI stands for Mi User Interface, and is one of the world’s most popular ROMs and is made for Xiaomi manufactured smartphones. The great popularity of MIUI-based ROMs could be acquainted to the many enhanced features it offers over stock Android, including support for hundreds of different custom themes that give your device a truly unique look. MIUI 6 was released quite a while ago, and is featured on most of the Xiaomi smartphones and varied devices, including the popular Mi 3, Mi4, Mi Note, and Mi Note Pro. Since the release of MIUI version 6, which is thoroughly based on Android 5.0 Lollipop, the whole Android community became eager to see where Xiaomi would take its own variant of the Android mobile operating system next; and after the company officially announced MIUI 7 back in August 19 around the world, the anticipation for the highly praised firmware rose immediately, as it was stated by Xiaomi that MIUI 7 was going to include numerous new features to further improve the user experience.

Today is the the day that the company promised to begin rolling out the update to select devices, but for all of you that cannot wait, a flash-able ROM for MIUI 7 is already available, which might be more than enough to quench your thirst for new updates. But if you are not familiar with flashing ROMs, remember that you can also receive the OTA update over the next few weeks, although you must first have to be using the MIUI Global Beta ROM to get the latest updates as soon as they are available. The MIUI Global Beta ROM is sightly different from the MIUI Global Stable ROM, which could be included with your device; the main difference is that through the Global Beta ROM, updates are more frequent, but you are under the risk that a newly released update is not as stable to be used as a daily driver.

Xiaomi has promised that over the next few days, some of the company’s latest and most popular devices, such as the Redmi 1S, Redmi 2, Mi4i, Mi3, Mi4, Redmi Note 3G and Redmi Note 4G, will be receiving the OTA update for the MIUI 7 Global Beta ROM, so keep an eye out for your device getting the latest version of the hugely popular MIUI.
