ZUK Z1 has announced two variants of the ZUK Z1 handset. The Chinese variant was announced earlier this month, and it ships with ZUK’s ZUI user interface on top of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. The international variant, however, comes with Cyanogen OS 12.1 installed on top of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, and that variant was announced earlier today. As far as the design and specs go, these devices are basically identical (aside from software and network bands). Anyhow, we were at the show floor during the announcement of the international variant of this device today, and were able to get some hands-on time with the device, read on.
If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll get to see the Cyanogen OS 12.1-powered ZUK Z1 in all its glory. The device sports a metallic trim, and a physical home button below the display. That home button actually doubles as a fingerprint scanner, U-Touch as ZUK calls it, and both the volume rocker and power / lock buttons are located on the right-hand side of this device. The ZUK Z1 also ships with the Type-C USB 3.0 port at the bottom, and next to it you’ll notice the microphone and the loudspeaker. What about its specs? Well, let’s check them out real quick.
The ZUK Z1 features a 5.5-inch 1080p display along with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of non-expandable internal storage. The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 quad-core SoC along with an Adreno 330 GPU for graphics. The 13-megapixel OIS camera is available on the back of this phone along with a dual-LED flash. The 8-megapixel snapper can be found up front, and a 4,100mAh battery is also a part of this package. The device ships with two SIM card slots (located on the left-hand side of this phone), and 4G LTE connectivity is also supported here.
