Fallout Shelter Finally Available For Android Devices

August 13, 2015 - Written By Ricardo Trevizo

Fallout is one of the biggest and most popular franchises in video-game history, with millions of players all around the world. Fallout was released originally in 1997 and tackles post-apocalyptic and retro-futuristic themes regarding the aftermath of a nuclear world war that took place during the 22nd century. Since its original release for PC, the game has seen several successors, such as Fallout 2, Fallout 3, and Fallout: New Vegas, all of which were released into different consoles as well as on PC. All of the Fallout games have been highly praised by the media and gamers in general, which led the game to be ranked among the best PC games of all time. Just recently, the highly anticipated Fallout 4, was announced during Bethesda’s E3 conference earlier this year. The console and PC game is set to be released in November, but fortunately Bethesda developed a mobile game so that the millions of Fallout fans have something to spend time on while they wait for Fallout 4 to be released. Fallout Shelter is now available for free on Android via the Google Play Store for everyone to download.

Fallout Shelter’s main goal is to build a subterranean shelter in which you will take care of a community of people trying to survive inside a vault after a nuclear war. In the game, users will face numerous challenges, including attacks from “unwelcomed guests” and other threats that may actually reside inside the vault. The community you will be taking care of consists of “Dwellers”, who will have unique traits that make them ideal for certain jobs. As time passes and with a bit of effort, your vault will prosper and will further expand, as attracting new Dwellers is one of the game’s main goals. Although Fallout Shelter might seem a bit simple at first, as time goes on it will become more challenging to meet the demands of a bigger community and to give all your Dwellers what they need to live a happy life inside your vault.

Bethesda already made the game available for all Android users to download for free (with several in-app purchases), so if you are a fan of the Fallout universe, make sure to give Fallout Shelter a try.
