ZTE To Announce A High-End Smartphone On July 21st

July 14, 2015 - Written By Kristijan Lucic

ZTE has released a number of compelling smartphones this year. The company’s Nubia Z9 line of devices covers the mid and high-end sector of smartphones. The Nubia Z9 Mini is a mid-range offering by the company which is made out of metal, and is a very solid device overall. The Nubia Z9 and Nubia Z9 Max are premium ZTE offerings, the former one is the company’s flagship smartphone, and the latter one is a 5.5-inch phablet. This Chinese smartphone OEM has also announced the MyPrague handset quite recently, another high-end smartphone. That being said, additional high-end ZTE-branded devices have been rumored recently, read on.

The ZTE Star 3, Nubia X8 and Axon smartphones have all been rumored recently. The Axon handset is more or less confirmed considering how many listings we’ve seen thus far, while the first two haven’t exactly been mentioned all that often. Well, ZTE will hold an event on July 21st, and it seems like they plan to announce a high-end smartphone at said event. The invitation says that the phone will focus on the design and battery life aspect, which definitely sounds interesting. Now, the question is, which device are we talking about here? ZTE has already announced their flagships for 2015, but it seems like this will be yet another flagship in their arsenal.

We still don’t know which device will ZTE announce though, there were quite a few leaks going around. It is possible that ZTE plans to reveal the Star 3 or Nubia X8 smartphones. The ZTE Star 3 will reportedly sport a curved battery and a dual camera setup on the back, and the Nubia X8 is expected to be yet another bezel-less device by ZTE, much like the Nubia Z9. This handset will allegedly sport no bezel on the sides, aside from the metal frame which holds the device in one piece, of course. It is possible that ZTE is planning to release something else, but unveiling one of these two devices seems like a possibility at the moment. Anyhow, we’ll let you know if we stumble upon some additional details regarding all this, stay tuned.
