Zopo Confirms Smartwatch And Smartphone Coming July 15

July 2, 2015 - Written By Kristijan Lucic

Zopo is a rather interesting China-based company. This smartphone OEM has released the Zopo ZP999 ‘Lion Heart’ device last year, and managed to get a lot of attention from both media and consumers. The company didn’t exactly release a ton of devices since then, but they did release a couple of them. The latest Zopo-branded smartphone is the Zopo Color C which was announced quite recently. This company doesn’t manufacture only smartphones though, we’ve seen Zopo’s leaked teaser quite recently, it clearly showed us a circular smartwatch which will be made out of metal. We were wondering when Zopo will release something officially, and the company just did that, read on.

This Chinese smartphone OEM has reached out to us to confirm that the Zopo smartwatch is real, and that it will be announced on July 15th in Shanghai during MWCS 2015. The company will not only unveil their smartwatch, but the Speed 7 Plus smartphone as well. The Zopo Speed 7 Plus is said to sport a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) IPS display along with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. This handset will be powered by MediaTek’s MT6753 64-bit octa-core processor and will offer dual-SIM connectivity. Android 5.1 Lollipop will also be a part of this package, and the device will ship with 13 and 5-megapixel shooters on its back and front, respectively. This smartphone will also offer 4G TLE support, and you’ll be able to expand its internal storage it seems (up to 64GB via microSD card).

A lot of companies will be present at MWCS 2015, including Huawei, ZTE, Letv, Nokia, Alcatel-Lucent, etc. Zopo will have some interesting products to announce it seems, we still don’t have that much info when it comes to their smartwatch though, new information will hopefully surface in the coming days. The previous leak has mentioned that the watch will be called the ‘Z Watch’, and that it will be compatible with both Android and iOS, which probably means it won’t run Android Wear OS. Either way, we’ll let you know when something pops up regarding the Zopo Speed 7 Plus, or their upcoming circular smartwatch. Until then, check out Zopo’s official teasers in the gallery down below.
