Oukitel is a China-based smartphone manufacturer which is, like many other Chinese OEMs, trying to find its way in the market. We’ve talked about the Oukitel A28 smartwatch quite recently, a watch which will reach the market quite soon. That being said, we’re here to talk about the company’s smartphone this time around, the upcoming Oukitel U9 handset which will be Oukitel’s flagship smartphone for this year, read on.

Our sources at the company have reached out in order to give us some more info regarding this smartphone. According to the available info, this handset will feature a 2.5D curved glass on top of its display JDI display, and Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 protection will also be applied on top of it. So, what do we know about this handset thus far? Well, quite a lot actually. In addition to the aforementioned display info, we do know the size and resolution of that display. The Oukitel U9 will sport a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) panel up front, and the 80% screen-to-body ratio has also been mentioned.

As far as other specs go, the 13-megapixel camera (Sony’s IMX214 sensor, f/2.0 aperture) has also been mentioned, and the phone will also sport a True Tone LED flash on the back. The 5-megapixel snapper (88-degree view) will be available on the front side of this handset, and the phone will also ship with some camera features pre-installed. This handset will be made out of metal, and 3GB of RAM might also be available as part of the package, but we can’t confirm that fact just yet.

If you’d like to check the design of this device, take a look at the gallery down below where you’ll find some leaked images. You can clearly see that the LED flash will be located next to the camera sensor, and that the phone will sport really thin side bezels. Three capacitive buttons will be available below the display: menu, home and back, respectively. We still don’t know which color variants will be available, but the White one has been confirmed. Stay tuned, we’ll report back when some additional info pops up.
