As battery life has been one of the largest issues for smartphone owners over the years, it was only a matter of time before we started to see manufacturers move away from focusing on larger batteries and shift some of that focus over to delivering a faster charging experience. Motorola introduced Turbo Charging into some of their devices while also announcing various accessories with which to deliver that power to the battery at a rapid rate, although up until now Motorola’s official Turbo Chargers were only available in the wall adapter form. As of today any interested consumers can now purchase Motorola’s TurboPower 15 Car Charger alongside the TurboPower 15 Wall Charger which was already available.

You can pick these car chargers up straight from Motorola at their official website, and seeing as they only cost $29.99 that isn’t too bad of a deal. The TurboPower 15 Car Charger only hosts a single USB port, so if you’re needing to charge more than one device at a time in the vehicle, this won’t provide you with a solution. If however you only have the one device to worry about this is probably your best option, as Motorola boasts up to 8 complete hours of battery life with only a 15 minute charge, which is probably shorter than most people’s commutes to work in the morning and back home at the end of the day.

The car adapter itself comes with the USB cable to plug into your device which sits at a length of 3.3 ft. This should be plenty of length to stretch across just about expanse of the car so whoever needs it can reach it. The power output is 15w for both the TurboPower 9v and 12v outputs, but it also supports the standard output of 8w at 5v as well for devices which don’t support the TurboPower charging. At current there is only three Motorola devices which this charger is compatible with, which includes the Nexus 6, Moto X 2nd Gen. and the DROID Turbo. Expect more of Motorola’s devices moving forward to support this charger too when they get released. It’s also compatible with any devices which support the Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 standard.
