Beginning with the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge Samsung has begun to really change TouchWiz in a meaningful way. For those who aren’t entirely up to snuff on everything Samsung, TouchWiz is their skin of Android that generally brings lots of nice features to the table but has traditionally slowed down the phone and made it pretty ugly compared to many other Android phones out there. Samsung lightened up TouchWiz with the S6, cleaned up the lingering features that people didn’t often use, and generally improved things in some seriously fantastic ways. One of the new features they added that has been requested for some time is full theming support, changing not just the home screen or the icons but even the notification bar, settings menus and the entire UI in general.

Since the launch of both phones Samsung has regularly updated the pre-installed theme store with new themes on Thursdays, appropriately giving it the name Theme Thursday. This weekly update schedule contains hand-curated themes approved by or created by Samsung, and is even now starting to include third party themes as well. Not every theme is going to be everyone’s cup of tea, but that’s the entire point of themes in the first place. Theming your device makes it truly yours, differentiating a device that might otherwise be the same or very similar to someone else’s. Most of these themes completely change the look of the phone, not just changing the colors of the menus but also the look and feel of the buttons and other UI elements as well.
Today’s update includes 9 new themes titled A Cup of Lemonade, Butterfly, Good Night, Horizon, My Cat, Oriental Line, Pastel Check, Peach Flower and Red Soccer. All of these have a completely different color scheme and set of icons, and choosing the right one might just be a great way to start off your upcoming weekend with a refreshed look to your phone. Check out all the themes below and of course head to the Galaxy Themes app that’s pre-installed on your Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge to download them all and give them a shot for yourself!
